Trade Book Reviews!

A Great way to boost sales are to reviews on your books. It is hard to get those, so I decided to start a post on trading reviews. I will review your book in exchange of my book getting reviewed. I want to be fair and honest to all reviews. So if you are interested either email me at the link on the upper right corner or post a comment. I don't want to review all and any book, so please let me know what genre it is and how long. I am looking for: Romance, Paranormal, Thriller, Some Non Fiction and Children books. I might consider YA, but please make a brief description. Thank you everyone!

Forums

Forums are great place to meet new people and get valuable information. I am apart of a couple of really good forums and I thought that I would share. Some of you already know, but for those who don't, well you now you do!

Absolute Write Water Cooler: This is my number one best site. Everyone is extremely helpful and the resources and connections obtained are invaluable to a writer.

Kindle Forums: This is good site to for information and learning. This site is a little more confusing to navigate, but once you get the hang of it, it is an awesome site.

PubIt: They have a forum, while I find it confusing, some people like it.

WritingForum.com: this has the same setup as AW (First on list). I am new to this one, so I will have to get back to this later.

Yahoo Groups are another valuable site to meet other authors and gain information.

Feel free to add to the list if anyone can come up with other good sites!

Learning never ends.....

I started lurking around for various different reasons. To make new friends, to promote my book, to join forums and just to sit back and talk with fellow writers just like me. No one really told me that it would turn out to be like a part time job. I decided to share some of the important things that I have learned. Most which everyone will already know, but who cares.

1. Promote your book in an entirely professional manner. No SPAMMING. I have seen this on some forums and I think that it is rude to pop up and throw your book in faces of the community without staying and making yourself apart of that community.

2. Format, Grammar, Spelling, Editing. These things are never ending and are never done. Somewhere in your book there are mistakes! Just try your best and do not throw your book out there full of errors. Forums are a great way to get helpful information and links to people that know their stuff!

3. Self-Publishing has become competitive since technology has grown so much. So keeping on top of current trends are smart. Getting yourself out there so people to see you and your book are important keys. Forums, Social Networking, Blogs, and even Word of mouth are extremely important to your bottom line and long term goals.

4. A good cover that is eye catching, a good sample for readers to read, and a good description will move mountain if you do everything right.  This I have learned the hard way, so don't make the same mistakes.

Keeping up with everything above should help. My biggest problem now is patience! I have none. It is the waiting to see results that are killing me. I have total confidence that I have done good so far. Now lets hope you can do good as well. I will look forward to any comments on anyone success!
